I thought it would be fitting to officially launch my Delightful_li website on Family day of 2020!! :)

I have been baking for a few years now, but its just been a for fun thing I do with my mom. Looking back over the past few years, life just kept me busy that I didn't really have my own space to achieve my personal goals and growth. Back in 2017 I had discussed starting a website but that year I got a new job, and then got engaged. 2018 was the year of balancing work and buying a home. 2019 was the year of #happligiu I married my best friend of 10 years. 2019 was a write off of prepping and planning for the wedding so was hard to really focus on anything else. So finally one of my goals this year was to make a website, a space of my own. A place for me to display my work, share inspiration and work out my plans for my own personal growth on my baking journey.

The one constant in my life has always been my family, no matter the ups and down and the challenges we face every year they have always been by my side. My family in their own ways pushes me to stay strong, pushes me to believe in myself when I don't always think I can do it and has always been my foundation no matter what is happening in my life.

Although my journey with baking began as a pure accident but also genuine love for my mom to get better, i've learned over the years that things happen for a reason and as hard as it can be sometimes with change or just struggles in life, there are always upsides and positive outcomes that may come out of certain situations. For me helping my mom get better and getting her to simply mix a bowl of batter using her recipes has helped me find a hobby of my own. Something I do find therapeutic and sparks excitement and joy.

I will forever be grateful for my family especially my mom for continuing from this day even though I don't live at home to help me with my baking, to continue to share ideas and things she has seen online or recipes to try out! My dad for always taste testing (even though you should cut the sugar) but always being so positive about the things I bake even though I don't think its the greatest. My brother that has shared my baked good with friends as well as being a taste tester that destroys all my baked goods and last but not least my husband, although you aren't a big fan of sweets and hence don't really eat the things I've baked, you have always supported me with my baking journey. You helped push me to achieve this goal by starting it off for me, you take me to workshops when you know I hate driving downtown and you always give me the space and time to bake and help me with the clean up.

This journey wouldn't have been possible without my foundation and I will forever be thankful! This is just the start and I am excited to see what I continue to learn, share inspirations and workshop I've attended and continue this baking journey with my mom as our creative outlet and therapy.

Smile big, enjoy the moments and bake!

Annie Li
