ABOUT ME

Hey there,

I'm Annie an at home baker, creator of Delightful_li. The inspiration of my name comes from my surname LI (we love play on words). :) I work in a corporate setting during the day and bake during the night.

I decided to create a website to showcase the creations I've made throughout my baking experiences and a place where I can personally express my thoughts, share my inspirations and try to figure out ways to stay creative. I started baking in 2013 and when I say "baked with love" it truly started from there.

It all began in 2012, my mom suffered a serious stroke that year and after a year of hospital visits, recovery and finally coming home in 2013. I wanted to distract her and picked up one of her recipes and got her to mix the batter. I wanted to pick up her spirits as well as provide her with at home therapy with something she loved and enjoyed to do. At the time, I had NO clue how to read a recipe, I didn't know what 1 cup butter was or how to use a mixer? But to my surprise, a few months of doing it with my mom I slowly started learning so much from her and really enjoyed it myself. The idea of creating nothing into something beautiful and edible is a perfect chemistry.

From that moment on, I've continued to bake along side her while expanding my skills of using fondant which she helps me mix and cut. Taking care of someone who has had a stroke unexpectedly changes your perspective on life and the uncertainties that may arise. I want to believe everything happened for a reason and for this I found a hobby and passion that I enjoy and am happy can share with others.

This page will be my outlet for sharing baking highlights, inspirations and continuing to inspire others by learning and trying new things. With difficult uncertainties in life, there is always a way to make things better. Thanks for following me on my journey, may not be anything BIG but the little moments are what I hope to capture through my love of baking with my mom!
